Abstract: | This study was aimed to: 1) study conditions and problems of information management for school administration in Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2, Chiang Mai Province; 2) study the need of information for school administration in Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2, Chiang Mai Province; and 3) study guidelines for information management for school administration in Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2, Chiang Mai Province. The population in this study were consisted of school administrators, teachers whose responsibility was on information system of the school, chiefs of each division, academic teachers, supervisors of each department and a chairman of Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2, Chiang Mai Province, in the academic year of 2012, the experts on information system from Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2, responsible officers of information system in the school which successfully manages the information system, and supervisors of Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2. The tools used in this study were questionnaire and structural questionnaire. The data gained was then analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The outputs of the study were presented in chart together with the explanation and analysis by each subject matter. The result of the study can be summarized as follows: 1. The conditions and problems of information management for school administration in Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2, Chiang Mai Province, were concluded into issues. For the academic management, it found that the information was used in planning and determining policy of the school which was applied to learning arrangement. For the problems, it found that the timeframe was limited and the operation did not follow the plan. For the budget management, it found that the information of each year was analyzed and processed. The problem was that the timeframe was limited and the operation did not follow the plan. For the human resource management, it found that some information was used in selection and recruitment of personnel. The problem of human resource management was that the timeframe was limited and the operation did not follow the plan. And for the general management, it found that the information was stored in files. The problem was that the personnel had no knowledge and understanding in analyzing the data. 2. The need on information for school administration was that the academic management required much information. The point pertaining to highest mean was that the information was used in academic planning. The budget management required much information. The point pertaining to highest mean was that the information on budget was systematically stored which is easy to search. The human resource management required much information. The point pertaining to highest mean was that that the information on human resource management was systematically stored which is easy to search. The general management required much information. The point pertaining to highest mean was that that the information storage method was precise. 3. The guidelines for information management for school administration in Samoeng Educational Quality Development Network Group 2, Chiang Mai Province, were concluded that the academic management, budget management, human resource management and general management should set an objective and follow the plan in each section. However, the follow-up, inspection, evaluation and improvement were also in need. |
