dc.description.abstract | This paper compares the lightning performance of overhead distribution line which installed two arrester types, metal oxide varistor (MOV) and current limiting arcing horn (CLAH). The performance of line which related to the insulator flashover, with and without arresters installed, has been modeled and analyzed using EMTP. The MOV arrester type gives better line lightning performance. The relatively wide arrester spacings will reduce the lightning performance. The arrester leads should be kept as short as possible. © American Institute of Physics. | en_US |
