This paper proposes SagWave software to generate the waveform for a 3kVA voltage sag generator prototype. The prototype works with 3-phase 4-wire inverter based on abc algorithm. The controller of the prototype was used low-cost dSPic microcontroller. The paper discusses the SagWave software is based on MATLAB graphic user interface (GUI) and the hardware is based on dsPIC microcontroller. The SagWave software allows users to select sag magnitude, sag duration, phase shift and voltage sag type of the each voltage sag. The SagWave sends the detail of voltage sag waveform to the dsPIC to create the voltage sag. The simulation and experimental results have shown that this prototype can be used as voltage sag generator in any conditions. © 2010 IEEE.en_US
