Abstract: | This study had the objectives of determining the working conditions, work happiness and problems of the employees of Omnoi Municipality by distributing a questionnaire to a sample group of 240 people: 65 government officials and 175 employees of the municipality and analyzing the data using descriptive statistics and using the Likert Scale to assess their work happiness and relevant problems. The findings showed that most of the government officials at Omnoi Municipality were female, married, 38 years of age on average, holding a Bachelor’s Degree, and having a monthly salary of 10,001- 20,000 Baht, and that they worked for the municipality for around 6 years in the education section. The first rank in terms of happiness was in working, mainly a good relationship with their colleagues and in work safety, followed by the economic aspect, mainly reasonable remuneration for the workload and a small amount debt without affecting their monthly income. The sample group had a moderate level of problems also, in such areas as the section had suffered too much of a workload, inadequate personnel, and the payment and welfare was not suitable to the amount of work. The employee group consisted mostly of males, married, 36 years old on average with a bachelor’s degree and monthly salary of 10,001-20,000 Baht, and they had worked for the municipality for about 5 years in the education section. Their work happiness was at a moderate level. The number one happiness for work resulted from good relationship with their colleagues and engaging in activities with them, followed by the health aspects in terms of no personal health problems or work-related health problems or problems with drinking and smoking. The sample group had a low level of work problems in such areas as too heavy a workload or inadequate personnel to cope with the amount of work. |
