ความพึงพอใจและความต้องการของนักศึกษาในการใช้พื้นที่สำนักหอสมุด มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่

Abstract

The objectives of this independent study are 1) to study students’ satisfaction with specific areas and services of Chiang Mai University’s Main Library, and 2) to examine students’ needs regarding these areas and services. The tool used in this study was questionnaires and the population studied was 374 students sampled from the 28,016 undergraduate students active in the 1st semester of the academic year in 2014, using the table of Krejcie and Morgan. 100% of questionnaires were returned to the researcher. The findings of the study regarding students’ satisfaction with areas of in the Chiang Mai University’s Main Library reveal satisfaction with area management of the Main Library at a high level (X̅=3.70), with the area for information technology services at a high level (X̅=3.65), with the area for basic services at a high level (X̅=3.52), with location and facilities at a medium level (X̅=3.44), and with reading areas and searching services at a medium level (X̅=3.39). The results of the research into students’ needs regarding these areas and services in the Chiang Mai University’s Main Library reveal the need for the public service area of the Main Library is high (X̅=3.98), for the support service area is high (X̅=3.85), for the main service area is high (X̅=3.80), for the subordinate service area is high (X̅=3.79).
