ผลการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ของสมาชิกสภาเทศบาลตำบล บ้านกลาง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำพูน

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the attitude of community leaders about Performance of Council Members of Banklang Subdistrict Municipality under the role and authority by the law or the formal roles. 2) to study the attitude of community leaders toward the capacity of Council Members of Banklang Subdistrict under the role of social function or the informal roles. 3) to give suggestion about the improvement of capacity of Council Members of Banklang Subdistrict, Muang District, Lamphun Province. Research method was qualitative research. Data collection was done by the structured interview with 36 of community leaders from Banklang Subdistrict. The results of this study were summarized below. The study found that most community leaders commented that the council members of Banklang Subdistrict Municipality worked well under the formal role in part of legislative analysis but the checks and balances roles on the executive did not work at full capacity. As regards to the informal roles, most community leaders agreed that Council Members of Banklang Subdistrict Municipality worked well in social function by reflecting problems and needs of the public This is because most members who won the election were from the same party with the executives of the Municipality. However, there were some members who did not perform the social role at full performance as other members. Community leaders suggested that Council Members of Banklang Subdistrict Municipality should develop their capacity and Shoutd distribute the information to all community leaders and listen to the problems from people in community continuously.
