Abstract

The purpose of this independent study is development of search engine based on term expansion from wordnet. Search engine can be increased the precision form term-expansion technique and replied the requirement of users. System of search engine have 5 domains such as entertainment, sport, technology, business and travel. Total document are improved for processing. The document from the pre-process will be assigned to the system of search engine Search engine is developed by using the web application technology and developed on Windows 7 operation. Search engine using Professional Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), Perl, Python and nltk toolkit to development. The management of search engine is using the file text system. Search engine is used by web browser. The result of study, search engine based on term expansion can be improved the precision and replied the requirement of user. From the experiment, the best of result is threshold at 0.5 and weight at 0.2.
