Abstract

Survey of lichen genera were performed at Chae Son National Park, Lampang Province, to conduct a guidebook on surveying of lichens in generic level. Specimens were collected from April 2011 to October 2012. Two areas were studied; the tourist center and the nature trail of Chae Son waterfall. Specimens were collected and classified into 12 families 16 genera i.e., Arthonia, Cryptothecia, Chrysothrix, Leptogium, Pyxine, Haematomma, Lecanora, Letrouitia, Parmotrema, Dirinaria, Buellia, Porina, Anthracothecium, Pyrenula, Laurera, Trypethelium and four unknowns. Eleven families 15 genera were found in the tourist center area. Whereas 10 families, 12 genera were found at the nature trail of Chae Son waterfall. The study was found that lichens in two areas were similar with similarity index of 8.69. There two areas were connected to each other, resulted in similar environment. Therefore lichens in both areas were similar. Results of the study were used to create teaching materials; a lichen study guidebook and a lichen survey guide at Chae Son National Park, Muang Pan District, Lampang Province. They were used to assemble basic biology learning for Matthayom 6 students at Chaehomwittaya School. The result showed that students were satisfied to learn basic biology lesson by using the lichen guidebooks. The average score from a questionnaire was 3.8 which was interpreted as students were very satisfied to use these teaching materials.
