Abstract: | The objective of this Independent study is for creating mechanisms for screening children with special need of Varee Chiangmai School by using a academic practice of 3 example groups which are (1) 31 administration and from teachers (2) 65 of student who are in the risk of being Special Need and (3) parent of student who are in the risk of being Special need. The information is being collected in quantity and quality. The quality collected tool is the formal and informal questionnaires. The quality collected tool is general knowledge assessment of the students with LD, ADHD. The Moe filtering form for LD students and behavior observation form SNAP-IV (Short form). Study period is divided into two stages as follow 1. Preparation 1.1 Detailed interview showed that teachers know and understand the meaning causes and symptoms of the 2 groups of students in some but not all the issues. They could give opinions about the problem of arranging the teaching and learning process in class where there are mixed abilities students which effected the learning atmosphere including students’ self-control in class. 1.2 The assessment results of the form teachers before and after training showed that the average knowledge about students with LD and ADHD before training was 67.08% (13.42 points). After training the average knowledge increased to 94.38%(18.88 points). This shows 27.30% (5.46 points) progress after the training that teachers have more knowledge about students with LD and ADHD. 2. Filtering process of students with special need. 2.1 Set the committee team for filtering students with LD and ADHD 2.2 Filtering the students by using different forms and found 22 students who are at risk of being LD. By using behavior observation form SNAP-IV (Short-form) found 43 of students who are at risk of being ADHD and the result of the parents’ interview found that students with behavior from Prathom 1 are not the same as the teachers’ filtering result. 2.3 The conclusion from the committee found that by using questionnaire forms and parents’ interview, in academic year 2013, there were 60 students (8.34%) who are special need and can be divided into 22 students with LD (3.06%) and 38 students with ADHD (5.28%). 2.4 The committee have passed on the information of the results to the form teachers to advice parents to observe the students behaviors continuously and to use as the basic information to help students later. |
