Abstract: | Currently, suicide is a major public health problem, with the statistics on suicide deaths being higher than the thresholds set by the Ministry of Public Health and showing an increasing trend, particularly among the working-age population. The objectives of this study were to investigate the association between spiritual intelligence, quality of life, and suicidal thoughts, as well as to examine the levels of spiritual intelligence, quality of life, and suicidal. This cross-sectional study among the working-age population in Chiang Mai province, involving 472 participants. Data were collected between November 2023 and January 2024 using a spiritual intelligence questionnaire, a quality of life questionnaire, and a screening tool for those at risk of suicide (SU-9), with analysis performed using multivariate logistic regression through a statistical analysis software program. The study found that the sample group had a high level of spiritual intelligence, a medium quality of life, and a suicide risk of 28.81%, which is a significant number compared to previous studies. Factors such as gender, age, education, income, smoking, drinking alcohol, relationships with partners and friends, experiences of physical abuse, loss of family members, previous suicide attempts or successful suicides, and spiritual intelligence were statistically significant in relation to suicidal thoughts among working-age Thai individuals. |
