Abstract: The objectives of this study to 1) study personal characteristics, economy, society, knowledge and compliance with Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542 of rubber traders in Chiang Rai province 2) analyze factors affecting the compliance with Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542 of rubber traders in Chiang Rai province and 3) study the problems, requirements, and suggestions of rubber traders in Chiang Rai province to compliance with Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542. The sample group consisted of 118 rubber traders in Chiang Rai province. Interview schedule with reliability values of 0.72 and 0.82, were used as data collection tools. Data were collected between September and November 2023. Then it was analyzed by descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, maximum, minimum and standard deviation, were used for data analysis. Hypothesis testing to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables was conducted using stepwise multiple regression analysis. The study results showed that 55.10% of rubber traders were male, with an average age of 47 years, and had completed a bachelor's degree. Most rubber traders operated rubber shops, with an average of 7 years of experience in the rubber business. The average income from rubber business varied by business type: rubber shops earned 341,893.33 baht, companies or partnerships earned 1,331,403.731 baht, and agricultural institutions earned 236,597.52 baht. The average business age was 6 years, and 78.80% of businesses engaged in domestic buy-and-sell operations, selling to middlemen. On average, traders had 2 interactions with relevant government officials. 66.67% of rubber traders had received information about the Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542 from government officials, informational documents, other rubber traders, websites, and other sources, respectively. The results of knowledge about the Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542, 52.50% of rubber traders demonstrated a high level of knowledge (mean score 10.86). In terms of compliance with the Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542, 45.80% of traders showed a high level of compliance (mean score 13.38). Factors significantly related to compliance with Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542 included education level, average income from rubber business, source of distribution, interactions with relevant government officials, and knowledge about the Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542. Rubber traders suggested simplifying the rubber accounting forms, which currently contain extensive details. They also expressed interest in receiving training on the Rubber Control Act B.E. 2542 to ensure proper compliance.
