Abstract

This research aims to study and analyze the collaborative management between the government and civil sector in restoring the Mae Kha Canal in Chiang Mai Province, which is crucial for maintaining the environment and the local community's way of life. The primary objectives of this research are: (1) to study the collaborative management models between the government and civil sector in the restoration of Mae Kha Canal; and (2) to analyze the problems and obstacles faced by the civil sector in cooperating with the government in restoring Mae Kha Canal. This research employs qualitative methods, including data collection from documents, interviews with relevant stakeholders, and community opinion surveys. The main research questions are: (1) What are the collaboration models between the government and civil sector in the restoration of Mae Kha Canal? and (2) What does the civil sector face the problems and obstacles in cooperating with the government in restoring Mae Kha Canal? The research findings reveal that collaborative management between the government and the civil sector requires continuous communication and coordination. The main issues identified include a lack of clear support from the government and the community's inadequacy of resources and knowledge. Nevertheless, fostering mutual understanding and cooperation among all parties remains essential for the effective restoration of the Mae Kha Canal.
