Abstract

Intrahospital transfer of critically ill patients might expose patients to additional harm and risk of death. Thus, a proper transfer process is needed to keep patients safe during transfer. This developmental study aimed to improve the quality of intrahospital transfer for patients who were admitted to the Respiratory Care Ward, Uttaradit Hospital. The method followed four steps of the PDSA cycle: Planning, Doing, Studying, and Acting. The study population was 22 registered nurses. The research instrument included guidelines for transferring patients in hospitals and a form to record compliance with guidelines for transferring patients within the hospital. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics.
