Abstract: This research aims to study Plant Layout Design for Good Manufacturing Practice in Kumquats Beverage Factory, Happy Beverage Company Limited, which originally produces drinking water and aims to expand its production to include bottled kumquats juice. Therefore, the research was conducted to design a production line of bottled kumquats juice using a Systematic Layout Planning method (SLP) and a Good Manufacturing Practice method (GMP) to increase the efficiency of the production. The practical steps of laying out a factory for the food industry started with the analysis of the flow of the kumquats juice production process and the existing drinking water production process. Hence, a Flow Process Chart and a Multi-product process Chart were employed to analyze the relationship between the drinking water production process and that of the kumquats juice in order to find the relevant activities and relationships of both production items. The analyzed relationship was then used to create a relationship diagram on the two production diagrams to determine the space and machines required to manufacture. The results were measured according to the distance of the production process. It was found that the second Plant Layout, had a production distance of 58.25 meters, which was 2.75 meters shorter than the first Plant Layout and it can save on machine costs 350,000 BTH. Having attained the result, the second Plant Layout was evaluated using the food production site evaluation form, designed under standard requirements that comply with the GMP standard of The Ministry of Public Health. The three assessors, who gave the assessment results in the second Plant Layout, indicating that the second Plant Layout passed the assessment in all requirements according to GMP standards. Therefore, the factory can potentially make use of the results to create a production line and request permission from the public health office of Ranong Province to use a place to produce food.
