Abstract: The objective of this study is to focus on the estimation of accidental risk for 29 routes and 25 intersections on the Suan Sak campus of Chiang Mai University. The reference traffic data was received from the Smart Campus Management Center Chiang Mai University. The risk assessment will indicate the areas of highly accidental risk in order to correctly improve those surrounding areas according to safety improvement activities that are stated in the economic evaluation. Start by using traffic data from the study area to analyze the risk of accidents using the Accident Rate Method and the Accident Severity Method in Microsoft Excel and Google Earth to find the distances. Then, sorting out the values by range value method and interval between levels method. The result found that there are routes and intersections that are highly risky (level 5). To indicate the accidental risk accurately, multiply the levels from the same position between both risk analysis methods to find the Hazard Assessment Matrix, which can connect the distinctive points of two risk analysis methods. The result found that routes and intersections that are highly dangerous, including routes 1(25), 5(15), and 29(15), and intersections A(15), T(15), V(25), W(15), and X(20), will be used to generate an accidental risk map. The economic evaluation shows that most of the routes and intersections that have a moderate Hazard Assessment level and above need to improve by using safety improvement activities. For instance, route 18 has a sum of safety improvement activities of 379,115.43 Baht/km/year, which is divided by the cost of safety improvement activities of 61,620 Baht. The benefit-cost ratio will be 6.15, which indicates the worthiness of improving.
