Abstract: | This PhD thesis work, "Excessive Desire", raises issues related to the current society, where people gradually amplify the evils in human nature in a social environment of excessive Internet use, leading to a continuous deterioration of the social environment. Therefore, this project aims to present the abovementioned problems through artwork. Its main goal is to create an animation with the theme of "Seven Deadly Sins" by studying the relevant working relationship between animation and the audience and to let the audience feel their life state of being addicted to the Internet through the presentation method. The author created a set of looping animations by studying theories about new media art, virtual aesthetics and social burnout, and the works of related artists. The story of this animated film is divided into seven separate animations featuring each of the seven deadly sins. The segments are interconnected and interrelated. The analysis of this artwork shows that creative aesthetics influences the viewer to view, perceive and interact with the artwork in a way that makes the viewer perceive his/her unhealthy state of life and his/her addiction to the Internet. The works in this project provoke discussion and reflection on issues related to Internet addiction in modern society. These works can convey and reflect content consistent with the intended concepts and objectives. The audience's comments and criticisms provoke a discussion of opinions between the audience and the authors. These debates provide valuable clues to explore the root causes and solutions to social problems. Overall, this project triggers the audience to reflect on Internet addiction and social problems through creative expressions. Through these works, it is hoped that the public's awareness of their living conditions and Internet usage can be aroused to promote positive social change. |
