Abstract: | The purpose of this independent study was to study job satisfaction of production staff of Driessen Catering Equipment Company Limited. The analysis was based on Frederick Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory consists of Motivation Factors and Hygiene Factors. The data was collected from sample group of 278 production staffs by using questionnaire and the data was analysed using descriptive statistics namely frequency, percentage, means and using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) analysis. The results of the research showed that most questionnaire respondents were male, 26-35 years old. Most were single and had income between 10,000-20,000 baht a month with the highest education being high school or vocational. They had working experience less than 1 year The respondents ranked level of importance for both factors at the high level. They also ranked each of the factor group at the high level. For motivation factors, they ranked in the following order: Work itself, Achievement, Responsibility, Personal growth and Recognition. For hygiene factors, they ranked in the following order: Interpersonal Relationships, Supervisors, Company Policies, Pay and Security and Working Conditions. For their satisfaction with the overall motivation factors, it was found that the respondents were satisfied at high level. They were also satisfied with each of the factor group at high level. For motivation factors, they ranked in the following order: Work itself, Achievement, Responsibility, Recognition and Personal growth. For hygiene factors, they ranked in the following order: Interpersonal Relationships, Supervisors, Company Policies, Pay and Security and Working Conditions. The results of using IPA analysis shows that there were 4 sub-factors in Quadrant A that need to be improved. There was 1 sub-motivation factor which was current work is challenging enough to enhance working experience. And there were 3 sub-hygiene factors which were clear goals and policies, supervisor is able to allocate or give proper work for the team including evaluation or assessment and providing consultation or support for employees when needed. Company should pay attention on these topics because they are important to employee but they are not satisfied yet. Management should consider improving on these topics by facilitating communication within company at all levels more and ensuring teamwork and developing the team including conducting survey on employee satisfaction. In order to increase job satisfaction, company have to work on these topics and provide improvement as soon as possible. |
