Abstract: The purpose of this research was to develop the sashiko embroidery skills by using embroidery hoops for a student with deafblindness. The case study, selected by purposive sampling, was a student with deafblindness in 9th grade. The instruments that were using in this research included 1) five patterns of hoop shapes : circle, oval, triangular, square and hexagonal, 2) five Individual Implementation Plans (IIP) and 3) assessment forms of sashiko embroidery ability using embroidery hoops. The data were analyzed by using average and percentage. The research results revealed that the development of Sashiko embroidery ability using embroidery hoop showed improvement ranging from 5.55 - 11.11%. The circle hoop and oval hoop were the best two hoops to develop sashiko embroidery ability for a student with deafblindness. The triangular, square and hexagonal hoop were more difficult because of its sides and angles. To assist the case study, the researcher increased tactile sign language by providing more touch samples of sashiko embroidery and guidance in handling the stitching patterns during the process, especially when stitching required turning corners, allowing the case study to achieve better results.
