Abstract: The objective of this independent study was to investigate the Lanna magic square, a magic square found in northern Thai yantras containing Lanna characters and numerals, which were converted into Hindu-Arabic numerals with numbers arranged in a 4x4 square in the amount of 16 characters, including 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 with the number 14 duplicated. The results of this study indicated that Lanna Magic Square possessed the property of pan Magic Square and showed the determinant of the pan Lanna magic square from 5 mathematical transformations of a prototype reflection with a diagonal as the main reflection 90-degree anti-clockwise rotation first digit to last digit and special mathematical transformations. Using row operation method in linear algebra, we can conclude that the determinant of such magic square is zero.
