Abstract: Air pollution problems in Thailand that particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in size exceeds the standard by 3.6 times the World Health Organization air quality guidelines. It brings a variety of ways to prevent particulate matter. Making the indoor area is a dust-free area by the positive pressure chamber system with air purification system is a highly efficient method. A townhouse has an open space between the floors of the stair hall that connects, that can use the principle of the air-pressurized system to make every floor of the building have positive pressure. When using principle of single-injection air-pressurized system is implemented in a typical townhouse with SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation program. There were problems in controlling the direction of air flow and controlling the pressure caused by the general style of the stair hall, not designed to use this principle and system. This research aims to study the design of stairwell and air distribution in a townhouse to prevent particulate matter using air-pressurized by testing from modeling with initial variables that is a stairwell position, stair style, air distribution position and the number of air distribution points in the stair hall. There are indicators of differential pressure, air velocity and airflow rate. Simulated tests on climate control variables during the most critical period March and Aprill. It was found that the differential pressure values were quite similar and within the specified criteria by the form in which the stairwell position is in front the straight stair shape produces the greatest differential pressure compared to other designs. As for the average wind speed in each area on each floor, they are quite similar. The 3-point distribution in every floor will spread the wind more evenly than the 2-point distribution, but the wind speed is relatively low. Compared to a 2-point distribution, air distribution at the bottom and top of the building can produce more compressed air flow at the first floor than distribution at the center of the building. In terms of air flow rate, It was found that the U-shape stair had higher Air change rates value than the others. which is related to the volume of the interior space from the design stage, starting from determining the air quality class. Calculate the volume of compressed air hallway design and design of air distribution Therefore, it is a guideline to make the area inside the house a dust-free area. techniques can be applied or further research on other variables to be more efficient. In this way, the result can create a good quality of life for the residents as well.
