Abstract: Asia is the largest producing and consuming region for poultry meat, accounting for 45 percent of global poultry meat production and 40 percent of consumption. However, small and medium-sized geese farmers in China lack of scientific knowledge in geese management cause low geese survival rate. To improve geese farmers’ scientific knowledge in geese management, research objectives are i) To identify critical situations of the geese management process in the Hunei geese farm; ii) To reduce mortality of geese raising rate in the baby stage, improve the quality of geese feathers, and the quality of geese' internal organs.; and iii) To compare the knowledge and learning level of farmers before and after applying the proposed solution. Regarding this, Virtual CoPs is proposed as a solution. Knowledge workers are three geese farmers with middle size farm in southeast part of China, Fujian Province. Virtual CoPs is the integration of CoPs, Blooms’ taxonomy, and AAR. CoPs serve as the learning construction zone for three geese farmers to acquire, share, and grow their knowledge with the support of veterinarians for 4 months. During implementation Blooms’ taxonomy is applied to track geese farmers’ cognitive learning levels. Finally, AAR is used to reflect an effectiveness of the proposed solution. The results show that - The mortality rate falls in normal standard, which are 0%, for Farm A and Farm B, 3.33% for Farm C. - Geese weight on Farm A and B fall into large range, which are 7.9-8.9kg, 8.1-9.0kg, respectively, while Farm C falls to medium categorization, which is 7.4-8.8kg. - The feather maturity level of all farm reaches matured level. - The bad internal organ geese rate of all farm is 0%. These results certify that the proposed solution “Virtual CoPs” have effectiveness to improve the quality of geese product.
