Abstract: | The construction procurement projects of The Princes Royal’s College School have been delayed due to inaccurate information and the lack of systematic work processes among the staff members. This has impacted the approval timelines for project requests, procurement activities, and construction, which have not been carried out according to the designated plans. The problem-solving approach utilized in this research involves the application of principles and theories, including business process management, ISO 30401 knowledge management system standards, and document management systems. The research aims to: 1) examine the current status and issues related to the construction and renovation projects of The Princes Royal College’s School in Chiang Mai Province, and 2) design and develop a knowledge management system for construction and renovation projects, targeting the management executives, team leaders, and operational staff involved in the procurement and construction processes. The researcher employed interview and open-ended questionnaire techniques to gather data, allowing respondents to freely provide information. The data was then analyzed using keyword extraction methods to categorize the identified issues. Deep interviews were conducted to explore the problems and their impacts, utilizing risk assessment techniques to identify high-risk processes that require corrective actions. Subsequently, the research designed a new process flowchart and work procedures using turtle diagrams to provide an overview of the workflow and swim lane diagrams to illustrate detailed process steps. ISO 30401 knowledge management system standards were used as a framework to guide the development of work processes, standard operating procedures, and document management systems for improvement purposes. Furthermore, a monitoring and evaluation questionnaire was utilized to assess the effectiveness of the knowledge management system. The study findings revealed two main problem areas: the lack of knowledge and understanding among staff members regarding work procedures and the disorganized data collection process. High-risk processes identified included project development and renovation (high-risk), construction procurement (high-risk), and data management (moderate risk). Additionally, the evaluation of the knowledge management system's efficiency indicated that the staff members possess the necessary knowledge and understanding to effectively utilize the system in various work processes, achieving an overall efficiency rating of 95.31% for all process steps. |
