Abstract

This Independent Study aimed to study the feasibility of investing in a pediatric dental clinic business in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province. Primary data were collected by using Questionnaire-based Survey as a tool. The population were the parents of children aged between 0-12 years old who resided in the municipality Chiang Rai. A total of 400 samples were collected by using Convenient Random Sampling method, together with interviews with 2 dental clinic operators and secondary data from relevant documents. The data was used to study the feasibility in 4 aspects, in Marketing, Technical, Management and Financial aspect, to plan strategies accordingly and analyze the investment value before making a decision to invest in a project.

The study found that there was a possibility of investing in all 4 aspects. For Marketing aspect found that Pediatric Dental Clinics were still in demand and in a competitive advantage with few competitors and high market opportunities. Main target group was a parent of children aged between 0-12 years old in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province whose interested in choosing Pediatric Dental Clinic that provided by specialized dentists. Emphasized quality services, reasonable prices and was seeking information through online by themselves. Strategizing with one-stop service with quality and reasonable price. For technical aspect, the location was on the main road, convenient to travel, located in the community, had a convenient working space. And had the opening hours that cover the needs of parents. For management aspect which was established in the form of a juristic person in the type of a Limited Company to clearly divide the partnership. The main shareholder, who was a dentist, will operate the business. There was a clear organizational structure. Recruit and select according to the required qualifications. Set a clear compensation appropriate to the size of the organization which consists of Clinic Manager, Specialized Dentist, Dental Assistant and Receptionist and for Financial aspect. It was found that the project invested with a total private investment of 4,000,000 baht with an expected return of 12%. The project's net present value (NPV) was 2,145,422 baht, the internal rate of return (IRR) was 26.52%, and the duration of paying back was 4 years 7 months 15 days. The result of the sensitivity analysis of the project. It was found that the project is more sensitive to changes in raw material costs than revenues. Therefore, investing in a Pediatric Dental Clinic business in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province is an attractive project.
