Abstract: The research on "Development of Chiang Mai International Airport Security System in Crisis Situation According to Business Continuity Management Approach" aims to 1. examine the guideline on development of Chiang Mai International Airport security system under crisis according to business continuity management approach and 2. investigate problems and barriers for development of Chiang Mai International Airport security system under crisis according to business continuity management approach. This research is a qualitative study, applying semi-structure questionnaires with 5 groups of study population including 7 executives and staff of Chiang Mai International Airport, 3 staff of business establishment at Chiang Mai International Airport, 2 domestic airline staff at Chiang Mai International Airport, 6 government employees stationing inside Chiang Mai International Airport, and 2 government employees stationing outside Chiang Mai International Airport. The study found that the production of the guideline on development of Chiang Mai International Airport security consists of 5 steps as follows. Step 1. Setting the goal and preparing documents; the business continuity of Chiang Mai International Airport Working Group on is responsible for setting the goal, work plan and business continuity strategies of Chiang Mai International Airport to be in accordance with ISO 22301:2019 Step. 2. Determining response structure; responsible unit will define response structure of each working unit to meet the goals set by AOT. Step 3. Notification and communication; focusing on internal and external communication of each unit and determining Call Tree for each subject. Step 4. Preparing business continuity approach; focusing on details of restoration after crisis. And Step 5. Restoring; organizing work structure per restoration plan to meet AOT standard. Problems and barriers include 1. Communication 2. Process on requesting permission to open a checkpoint. 3. Limited trained staff.
