Abstract: The comparative study of perception and acceptance of gender diversity among the students of Health Sciences, Science and Technology, and Humanities and Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University. This study aimed to compare the perception and acceptance of gender diversity of students in Chiang Mai University using qualitative research method. In-depth interview and focus group discussion techniques were used for data collection from 54 students of Health Sciences, Science and Technology, and Humanities and Social Sciences. The key informants consisting of 30 undergraduate students, 15 master students, and 9 doctoral students with no restrictions on the sexual orientation. Obtained data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, categorization, and content analysis. The results reveal that most of the key informants were male (61.11%) and single (92.59%) with an average age of 24.74 years old. They mostly had LGBTQ relatives (61.11%) and friends (90.74%). They all (100%) received LGBTQ information via social media. The key informants had percept the similar issues of LGBTQ’s physical health, mental health, and lifestyles. And the key informants had the same answer in acceptance the issue of LGBTQ's responsibilities as no different from the public. In terms of language and behavior, the key informant mostly accepted in all issues except for the profanity of LGBTQ. Moreover, in terms of comparative study found that the key informants from Health Sciences had different perceptions from the other two field of study in physical and mental health. That was, they had variety perception about maintaining physical and mental health of LGBTQ. While the key informants from Science and Technology, and Humanities and Social Sciences had different perception compare to the key informants from Health Sciences in terms of special preferences or interests which was different from the public. In terms of acceptance, found that all the key informants had no different in responsibility for duties of LGBTQ. However, in terms of language and behavior, the key informants from Health Sciences and Science and Technology had the similar acceptance on uniqueness and outstanding of language using. In contrast, the key informants from Humanities and Social Sciences had acceptance of LGBTQ in appropriate behavior and creativity of language using.
