Abstract: Agriculture plays a role in contributing to global warming by being both a source of greenhouse gas emissions and a carbon sink. Therefore, the aims of this study comparative assessment of carbon footprint and carbon balance of organic and chemical agriculture. The carbon footprint approach based on the Life cycle assessment (LCA) tool is used to quantify life cycle greenhouse gas emission of organic agriculture compared to chemical agricultural systems. The study vegetables were kale, cauliflower, and eggplant. The results showed that carbon footprint in organic agriculture was less than chemical agriculture in all vegetables. Organic agriculture of kale, cauliflower, and eggplant can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 65%, 67% and 61% respectively. In addition, the results of the research enable management enhance fertilizer application practices, the organic carbon increase in the soil and it also helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions effectively. Leading to the purchase of carbon credits from agricultural projects
