Abstract: Purpose: To evaluate the effect of pulpal pressure on microtensile bond strength between resin cement and dentin surface coated with immediate dentin sealing technique. Materials: 50 extracted human third molars were random into 2 groups depending on presence of pulpal pressure and non-pulpal pressure (PP, NP). Each group was divided further into 5 subgroups; Direct immediate dentin technique (Control), Delayed dentin sealing technique (DDS) and Immediate dentin sealing technique with dental adhesive 3 systems: three-step etch-and-rinse (TE), two-step self-etching (SE), and universal adhesive (U). Restorations were built up in dentin surface. For PP groups, the specimens were applied under 20 cm H2O. After storage in a moist condition, specimens were cut into microtensile beam (1 mm') and submitted to u TBS testing and failure modes. Data were analyzed with two-way ANOVA followed by the post-hoc Tukey's test (p <0.05). Results: Immediate dentin sealing technique groups showed higher µTBS than control and DDS group after present/ absent of pulpal pressure. When present of pulpal pressure, µTBS of TE-PP and DDS-PP group was reduced significantly while there was no significant difference among 3 dental adhesive systems. Conclusion: All immediate dentin sealing technique groups produce higher µTBS than delay dentine sealing technique and control no matter pulpal pressure was applied. The µTBS obtained with etch and rinse system was affected by the pulpal pressure, it still yielded the highest µTBS.
