Abstract: | This research aimed to 1) study the knowledge of the trainees in cricket culture, 2) compare the knowledge of cricket culture before and after training of the trainees and 3) study the problems and suggestions of the trainees in cricket training, this was an experimental study in pre-experimental design. Data was collected from a sample group of participants in cricket culture in Chiang Klang District, Nan Province, who were trained in the project from the Livestock Office total 70 cases in March 2019, using questionnaires as a tool for collecting objective-generated data. The data was analyzed by using frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, maximum, minimum, standard deviation, and paired t-test statistics. The results of the study showed that most of the trainees were female, 31-45 years old and farmers, most of them graduated below secondary education, raised house cricket species, had 10 crickets cultured ponds and 3-5 years of experience in crickets, they were trained in crickets for the first time and received knowledge and support from the sub-district agricultural office. The hypothesis test results showed that the knowledge level of cricket culture after training was higher than before training. The overall score of trainees after training was significantly different from before training at 0.05, with an average total score of 16.50 before training and an average total score of 18.64 after training. The t-test was -6.358 and the Sig. was equal to .000 The results of the study of problems and suggestions of the trainees found that the trainees did not have knowledge and new techniques in cricket culture management. Crickets had many pests such as mites, worms, striped flies, weevils, and lizards and cricket eggs did not incubate. Raising crickets for a long time caused crickets to grow in unison and become smaller, the quantity of produce to be reduced, the food cost of crickets to be increased. In addition, the sale of crickets was suppressed by the middleman. The suggestion is that related agencies should be able to provide support on techniques, methods, management and disease prevention in cricket culture. The trainees suggested to form a group to provide inexpensive inputs to members and have insurance for the purchase price in advance for members or trainees. |
