Abstract: The purposes of this research were (1) to investigate the relationships among proactive personality, work engagement, and change-oriented citizenship behavior of teachers in government schools in Lamphun province, and (2) to examine the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between proactive personality and change-oriented citizenship behavior. The sample in the study was 200 teachers in 91 government schools located in Lamphun province. The research instrument consisted of (1) the Proactive Personality Scale, (2) the Work Engagement Scale, (3) the Change-Oriented Citizenship Behavior Scale, an (4) respondent's demographic data. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, regression analysis applying for the causal steps of Baron and Kenny (1986), and Sobel's test for significant analysis of indirect effect The results of the study were as follows: reserved 1. Proactive personality could be significantly predicted change-oriented citizenship behavior of teachers in government schools in Lamphun province (b = .636, p < 0.01), explaining variance of change-oriented citizenship behavior at 38.7 percent. 2. Proactive personality could be significantly predicted work engagement of teachers in government schools in Lamphun province (b = .588, p < 0.01), explaining variance of work engagement at 38 percent. 3. Work engagement could be significantly predicted change-oriented citizenship behavior of teachers in government schools in Lamphun province (b = .266, P < 0.01) Proactive personality and work engagement could explained the variance of change-oriented citizenship behavior at 42.6 percent. 4. The relationship between proactive personality and change-oriented citizenship behavior of teachers in government schools in Lamphun province was partially mediated by work engagement with the statistical significance of .01 (Z = 3.461) with the indirect effect of .156
