Abstract: | In Thailand, flooding is a disaster that occurs every year. Floods affect to the social and economic losses. To reduce the flooding losses, people require to receive accurate flood early warning information responsively. Therefore, the researcher has studied the website design process to develop the website prototype for flood early warning systems by interviewing the experienced website designers and the government officer agents, who involve in the flood disaster protocol regulation, from the department of disaster prevention and mitigation of Chiang Mai Province. From the interview results, the researcher applies the obtained information to develop the website prototype. Then, the sample group of the people has tested the flood early warning website prototype. The results show that the sample group is satisfied with the most satisfying level; the mean value is 4.21 (𝑋 = 4.21 S.D .= 0.51). This study reveals that the flood early warning website should consist of 1) flood maps to show the flood situation information with images of floods in the user location area, 2) the approximate time of flood arriving according to the user location, and 3) the system ability to automatically issue the notification messages. The properly flood design website can reduce the effects of property and economic losses. |
