Abstract: Most of the buildings of the academic institutes are the ones that were built for a long time without any renovations which causes their energy efficiency of building quite low in value by wasting too much energy and developmental lacking. Moreover, the global warming crisis results in to increase in the use of air-conditioning. Therefore, it is necessary to find any solutions in building renovation. The purpose of this research is to analyze the feasibility of the energy efficiency of academic institution buildings. The planned prototype building is the Graduated Program Building in the Faculty of Engineering. The procedure has been started by a site visit for the construction survey to gain the information of any building changes from the receiving construction plan. After that, the physical model has been created by using the Autodesk Revit Program which aimed to focus on architecture. When the physical model was completed, the energy modeling has been created by using the DesignBuilder Program and input the relevant data which are the façade materials, the electrical equipment, and the date of construction registration. Then, the EnergyPlus Program has been used for the calculation of the energy modeling. The output value has been tuned into the receiving reverse power of the building between the year 2016 and the year of 2018 by the differences must not be more than 10 percent and having another experiment by applying these 4 differences for each experiment as 1) changed the previous bulbs to be the LED T87.5 W/m2 2) changed the previous bulbs to be the LED T8 9.5 W/m2 3) changed the building walls to be the double-wall and 4) installed the Polyurethane Foam (PU Foam) on the walls in order to find the possibility of energy consumption reducing. After that, calculated the costs of every model and compared them to find the energyefficiency per each cost (kWh/Baht). The results are 0.1769 (kWh/Baht), 0.0417 (kWh/Baht), 0.0037 (kWh/Baht), and 0.0034 (kWh/Baht), respectively. After the consideration, the building renovations have found that changing the previous bulbs to the LED T8 9.5 W/m2 is the most feasibility of investment. Therefore, the resulting from this research is a suitable alternative for building renovation as above mentioned. Also, the research can be effectively used as a prototype for an alternative analysis to find any suitable solution as well as has been used for this building renovation as it can support to reduce the building energy consumption, global warming and can encourage to have a long-life development continuously.
