Abstract: The purposes of this research were 1) to study the effects of mathematics achievement of secondary school students, and 2) to compare the pretest-posttest mathematics achievement between STEM education school and non-STEM education school by using propensity score matching method. The samples of the study were drawn from multi-stage sampling consisted of 1,800 students, 105 mathematics teachers, and 60 school directors. The research instrument used for collecting the data was a five-point rating scale questionnaire and survey. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, enter multiple regression analysis, comparison analysis by two sample t-tests, and propensity score matching method. The research findings were: 1) the effects of mathematics achievement of secondary school students were student's gender, basic knowledge, study part time, self-concepts, motivation, intention, parent's highly education, parent's career, parent's income, parent’s attention, relationship between the student and parents, parent's status, teacher's gender, teacher's highly education, teacher's faculty of graduation, STEM learning, quality mathematics teaching, classroom environment, school director's gender, school director's highly education, experiment of school management, school size, secondary education service area of school, and participation of STEM education. These effects predicted by 66.0% were significant at the 0.05 level. 2) The results of the comparison analysis mathematics achievement before using propensity score matching method technic found that mathematics achievement’s STEM education school was more than mathematics achievement's non-STEM education school. Moreover, after adjusting propensity score, it found that mathematics achievement’s STEM education school was more than mathematics achievement's non-STEM education school in group which were propensity scores at a very high level.
