Abstract

The purpose of this independent study was to study and to develop Information System in order to increase production efficiency for packaging printing process in a printing house. The production efficiency was measured by quantity of routings and production lead time, using process flow chart and value stream mapping to find non value added activities in the process. The first stage of the study was to identify, divided into 2 major sections: production order process and follow-up process. System requirement which can be .Then a data flow diagram was drawn to provide a visual overview of process and a database model diagram was drawn to analysis relationships among data. The results showed that there was some duplicated processing for data entry and some data came from multiple sources, which was difficult to evaluate and to follow up. After the improvement, routings for ordering process was reduced from 4 to 3 and the lead time in this process was reduced from 125 minutes to 55 minutes or 57.69%. A centralized database, reduced data source from 6 to 1, which could eliminate duplicated records.
