Abstract: The objectives of the independent study “Quality of Work Life of Tour Guides in Chiang Mai Province” were (1) to study the level of work life quality and (2) to study the factors which effected quality of work life of tour guides in Chiang Mai province. The study was based on the concept of Quality of Work Life by Management System of Quality of Work Life: MS-QWL, Industrial Council of Thailand. Questionnaire was used to collect the data from 200 tour guides. The collected data was then analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, T-test One Way ANOVA, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study showed that most questionnaire respondents were male, 36-45 years old, with Bachelor’s degree. Most worked as company’s tour guide. They used English in their work. Their work period was 12 years. Their income was 10,001-20,000 baht per month. The level of their work life quality was at the high level in 5 factors, namely mind, social relation, environment, spirituality, and life stability. The factor which was ranked at the medium level was body. They ranked the overall work life quality at the highest level. The relation between the 6 factors and the overall quality of work life was positive, at the statistics level of 0.01, with body and social relation related at the low level, while mind, environment and life stability related at the medium level, and spirituality related at the highest level. Moreover, it was found that the relation between quality of work life and the overall quality of work life was positive, with mind, social relation and spirituality affected the overall quality of work life at the statistics significance level of 0.01.
