Abstract: The purposes of the study were to compare the ability to control lumbopelvic stability and the rifle shooting performance between rifle athlete with pilates training and no pilates training groups. Fourteen rifle male athletes from Chiangmai Amateur - Shooting Sports Club were recruited into the study. There were randomly divided into 2 groups: pilates training and control groups. They were assessed core muscles strength using the Lumbopelvic Stabillity Test (LPST) by Pressure bio feedback unit (PBU) and rifle shooting performance test with 600 shots pre and post. 6 weeks training. Comparison of lumbopelvic stability and rifle shooting performance between pre and post training using Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test and compared between groups using The Mann-Whitney U Test at p< 0.05. The results were founded that pilates group was significantly increase core muscle strength and shooting score (p<0.05) after 6 weeks training. However, there were not different in the control group. The mean difference (after training - before training) of core muscle strength and shooting score in pilates group was significantly higher than control group (p<0.05). This finding demonstrated pilates training increase core muscle strength and lumbopelvic stability. It was also improve shooting performance in rifle athletes effectively.
