Abstract: The study entitiled, “The Demand for Major Buddhist Tourism : A Case Study of Wat Prathat Lampang Luang” aims to examine the behavior of tourists visit to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang and factors influencing tourists’ travelling to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. The data was collected from the questionnaires of 300 randomly selected tourists and were analyzed. The study was found that most tourists used to visit Phra That Lampang Luang before the current trip, they have been there for 1-10 times, by private vehicle, spent 2-4 hours travelling from hotel to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, the travelling expense was not over 1,000 baht, food and beverage expense was not over 1,000 baht, the souvenir expense was not over 1,000 baht, the other expenses was not over 1,000 baht and the total expense was about 1,001-3,000 baht. Most of them visited Wat Phra that Lampang Luang with family and relatives, the purpose of this visit was to merit The Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, they visited on weekend, the activity was donation, they obtained Information about Wat Phra That Lampang Luang from friends and they want to come back to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang again. In term of factors influencing tourists’ travelling to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, most tourists thought that Wat Phra That Lampang Luang was respectable temple in Lampang, the cost of travelling was low, there were public relations through printing media and staffs had good knowledge of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. The study was found that age and education level did not affect the travelling cost of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. Travelling time spent from hotel to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang affected the travelling cost of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang in the opposite direction, and the income of the tourists, the average number of holidays in one year of the tourists and the number of times they have been to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang affected the cost of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang in the same direction.
