Abstract: | This independent study was aimed to study the circumstances, problems and guideline of the academic management of Nong Pa Krang Kindergarten School, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. The populations in this study were consisted of education institute administrators, teachers and education support personnel, totaling 18 persons. The tools used in this study focus group and in-depth interview in 2 aspects as follows: the curriculum and the use of curriculum, learning activity arrangement, library management, measurement and evaluation, education supervision and education insurance. The data gained was then summarized into each issue, and the result of workshop was analyzed in the descriptive manner and presented in essay. The outputs of the study found that the circumstances of the academic management of Nong Pa Krang Kindergarten School were as follows: In light of the curriculum and the use of curriculum, it has been continuously improved to be in accordance with the core curriculum of the year 2008 by relying on the process that involves all concerned parties. The problem was that the local knowledge and wisdom are not integrated into the general subjects and occupational subjects. It is suggested that there should be a workshop to develop the curriculum on continuous basis. In light of learning activity arrangement, the activity was arranged in accordance with the potential of the learners and was integrated the local wisdom and local learning resources into the classroom teaching. The problem was that teachers do not possess a multitude of teaching technique. It is suggested that there should be a training to promote various learner-centered teaching techniques. In light of library management, the tasks were assigned to responsible person in form of committees who did not directly graduate from the library sciences. They fail to understand the library system and most of the books are folktales and cartoons. The problem was that teachers are already burdened with teaching as their regular job; they cannot carry out the special assignment for all day long. It is suggested that more teachers who directly graduated from the library sciences should be recruited to unburden the responsibility of the library teacher. In light of measurement and evaluation, the school appointed the chief of Measurement and Evaluation Division, Commission of Desirable Characteristics Evaluation, and Developmental Activity Evaluation Commission. The measurement and evaluation was conducted in the levels of classroom, grade and school. The significant problem was that teachers still lack of knowledge and understanding in measurement and evaluation, and particularly, they lack of skills in making the test of thinking, analyzing and evaluating. It is suggested that the measurement and evaluation workshop should be arranged all the time. In light of the education supervision, the school has been using the friend-to-friend supervision. The orientation was conducted with the new teachers. The problem was that the supervision process is not various and there is no follow-up. It is suggested that training of supervision techniques should be continuously held every year. In light of education insurance, the school adhered to education insurance guideline of local administrative organization which is in accordance with the ministerial rule of the year 2010. They conducted the school standard. The problem was that teachers still lack of knowledge and understanding on education insurance. The projects/ activities did not abide by the plan. It is suggested that seminar on education insurance should be held in order to support the education evaluation from the external organization. |
