Abstract: This research focuses on efficiency improvement of Coil Winding Machine in production department of electronics factory. The objective of this study is to improve working methods of machine set up process inorder to reduce machine set up time. The research begins with the analysis of the current set up process by divided processes into two categories which are, process that can be performed while the machine is running and process the cannot be performed while the machine is running. The principle of time study was used to eliminate unnecessary process and to develop new working procedure. The study has resulted in new working procedures. Firstly, tools preparation process was scheduled to perform before machine set up start. New mobile tools cabinet was designed to assist this process. Secondly, New jig was designed for spindle assembly to improve wiring process, preparing assembly in advance helped to reduce machine setup time from 470 minute 31 second to 293 minute 65 second, which equals to reduction of 37.56%. In addition, the result from this research work can be applied to increase the efficiency of other machines that are important to production process.
