Abstract: The study of "The Gross Happiness Index Formulation of Mae Hong Son Province" aims to formulate the Gross Happiness Index of Mae Hong Son Province. The samples consist of Thai populations who live in Mae Hong Son Province and have been recorded in population data base in 2013. The sample population are randomly chosen for 400 person. The analytical tool is Questionnaires Method separate into 2 parts, sampling populations' information and Happiness Index, covering the focused factors. The result of the study found that the majority of sample were characterized as male (51.50 percent), in the age category of 25 - 39 year (47.75 percent), married (55.25 percent), had a High Vocational Certificate education (29.0 percent), work in a field of government service (43.25 percent), Buddhist (56.50 percent) and had average income of 10,000 baht per month (60.75 percent) The Factors Analysis of Mae Hong Son Province Happiness Index consisted of 5 components which were Component 1 "Self - actualization" consisted of 9 variables, Eigen values as 5.763 and Percentage of Variance as 19.211. Component 2 "Social Belonging Needs" consisted of 7 variables, Eigen values as 4.243 and Percentage of Variance as 14.144. Component 3 "Democratization" consisted of 6 variables, Eigen values as 4.041 and Percentage of Variance as 13.469. Component 4 "Quality of Life" consisted of 6 variables, Eigen values as 3.761 and Percentage of Variance as 12.535. Component 5 "Family Relationship" consisted of 2 variables, Eigen values as 2.113 and Percentage of Variance as 7.042.
