Abstract: Throughout history, humans have faced numerous epidemics, most of which are respiratory infections that spread easily. These outbreaks, like the 2019 coronavirus disease, have rapidly increased patient numbers, overwhelming hospitals worldwide. This study investigates the key criteria influencing the selection of sites for community isolation facilities, using multi-criteria decision-making techniques. 16 consistent criteria were identified as relevant for choosing isolation facility locations, excluding rental cost and main road proximity. The importance of these criteria varied among different groups. Local people prioritized the waste management system, operational costs and wastewater treatment system. Experts, on the other hand, valued operational costs, readiness and community consent the most. Using the Fuzzy TOPSIS technique, the study determined that “Chiang Mai Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 (A6)” is the best option for a community isolation facility. This research focuses on Fang District in Chiang Mai Province. It's crucial to note that criteria affecting isolation facility locations may change based on geography, climate, and the transmission characteristics of infectious diseases. The findings can help guide the selection of suitable locations for isolation facilities in future epidemics.
