Impressive Lanna artists as role models for the creation of contemporary art

Abstract

This study, Impressive Lanna Artists as Role Models for the Creation of Contemporary Art, is an art creative research by presenting research findings in a descriptive form and creative works of art. The purpose of this study was to study the role models from mass media who are artists in the North under the cultural context that expresses the work, concept, and way of life to the creation of contemporary art. The knowledge gained from the study as an inspiration in creating contemporary art and to be praised as a model in public places. From the study, it was found that person who were model images of Lanna artists were honored as national artists, namely: Charin Nantanakorn, National Artist of the Year 2541 BE in Performing Art, Inson Wongsam, National Artist of the year 2542 BE in Visual Arts, and Charoen Malaroj (Mala Khamchan), National Artist of the year 2556 BE in Literary Arts. This is an inspiration for the creation of contemporary art through media art in the form of a video installation, telling a biography based on life, a work that is the identity of a role model, displayed as a media art exhibition, to praise and disseminate the value of the role model artist to the public. The results of this art exhibition showed that there are constant visitors to the exhibition, including publicizing stories about the lives and works of the role models from the exhibition and social media.
