Abstract: | This thesis has presented the topic of optimal power transformer maintenance planning with economic analysis based on health index assessment. The power transformers are the main equipment of the transmission system that transfers power from different voltage systems, such as from the power plant to the transmission system and from the transmission system to the power distribution system. In this study, the power transformer in the Central1 region of the Electricité Du Laos (EDL) which consists of 19 units is used to be the study case. The purpose of this study is to create a decision model of the maintenance plan, which is considered three risk indexes including the health index, consequence index, and economic index. The risk matrix method is used to be the decision tool to identify the optimal maintenance plan for the period of current service life. The models of this study are created by using the Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) version R2018a software, which imports data in form of the tables in Microsoft Excel files (.xlsx). The results of the economic analysis can be indicated the optimal operating time of the transformer which helps to invest the maintenance budget and manage assets properties. The results of the consequence evaluation of the transformer can be considered in the potential impact of the transformer on the system. The results of the technical analysis can be an indicator of the overall health status that confirms the current level of the reliable power transformer. In addition to being used in the Central1 region, the benefits of this study can also be applied throughout the EDL system. |
