Abstract: In this research, we analyze energy consumption by constructing a linear programming model with the objective to minimize the total costs of energy and fuel consumption for 1 year planning horizon. The constraints in our model depends on the electricity demand, generation capacity and the production capacity from each source. The focus of this study is on the electricity management under 15-minute, hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly demands in the industrial province of Rayong in eastern Thailand. The energy sources considered in this work are a combination between renewable energy and fossil fuel. Results, under the constraints, show that fuel oil, natural gas and coal for electricity generation remain the main energy sources. Electricity generation under monthly demand is met only by hydro power, natural gas, solid waste and geothermal energy but that under other demand is used from all sources. A study on finer demand periods indicates that electricity generated from all other energy sources is needed to cover real-time peaks.
