Abstract

The violent situations that take place in the three southern border provinces of Thailand took away the life of the person whom I dear most. This loss makes me realize that my life is full of uncertain things. This uncertainty inspires me to create the art works in this project, which I create in order to commemorate and honour all the heroes who have passed away because of the violent situations in the three southern border provinces. The works in this project are installation art works that are composed of real things I have collected from the areas in which the incidents took place. These things are the last memories of the decease that their relatives and friends have. Such things include the photographs of the violent incidents that took place and oil-colour paintings that depict the locals’ way of life, identities and characteristics in order that the audiences can see the other side of people living in the three southern border provinces. The creation of the works in this project enables me to attain more realization of life. I have learnt that all of us should do good and creative things for our own country and mother land so that our descendants can have something to remind them of us.
