Abstract: The thesis titled “Representation of Girl Group BNK48 on Social Media” aims to investigate the representation of the girl group, BNK48, on social media. Utilizing qualitative research methodology, specifically textual analysis, this study employs purposive sampling to collect relevant data. The data encompassed various categories, including 1) news regarding awards or nominations, 2) Single Senbatsu General Election, 3) news concerning graduation announcements, and 4) diverse controversies of the artists. Old news collection will be studied and collected from year 2018 to 2022, which is the time when artists are most talked about on social media. From a fan page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/bnk48official). The research results found that BNK48 showed the representation of women who are Japanese-Thai idols. From the case of the news regarding the award, which has the characteristics of a person who represents a well-behaved youth, it is a representation of an idol accepted by the general public and society. Becoming a member will be in terms of Thai society's role model. In the selection, normal people with good profiles along with who can be role models or epitomes for Thai youth will be selected. This makes fans want to follow and be ready to support, resulting in artists as idols. Consequently, idol artists become influencers among adolescent groups and fan clubs, influencing adherence to societal norms reflected in the representations of women deemed acceptable. In the case of the Single Senbatsu General Election is a representation of modern women who step into competitive professional space to achieve success within the entertainment industry. General Elections are like a fight. It is self-development, and competition for the position they seek. The graduation news marks the end of women's representation as BNK48 artists, whose average age of idolization does not exceed 28 years. Therefore, the graduation of idols is the expiry of young women as cultural goods and various controversial issues of artists, including breaking the rules and being subject to penalties. Those punishments demonstrate control over an artist in the manner of self-expression in personal space. In order not to have any characteristics or images that do not meet the requirements of the affiliation.
