Abstract

The Lampang railway community district is an old area of historical significance, once a bustling trading center. Within this area, there are old wooden houses of the railway, a Chinese market, as well as public and governmental buildings constructed to accommodate modern societal needs. However, the existing components are underutilized and do not align with the current context. This research aims to study and analyze the sustainable characteristics that promote the community's vitality. By collecting data to understand the local identity, it serves as a basis for appropriate development planning. The research methodology emphasizes analysis and summarization of urban concepts derived from synthesis and perspectives from various dimensions such as physical, social, and economic. This leads to comprehension and guides future development. The study found that the development of infrastructure and components of the railway community has been suitable and valuable for sustainable tourism development. However, there is a need for a framework for further development, such as improving transportation networks, land utilization, and appropriate building renovations. These findings conclude the utilization of space and analyze the significance of the Lampang railway community in the present and future. It provides guidelines for utilizing space and adapting to the current context effectively and sustainably.
