The Emotion of my loneliness in contemporary art

Abstract

This dissertation belongs to the research category of fine arts, which is a comprehensive cross-study combining fine arts with social psychology, aesthetics, art and other disciplines. The dissertation takes the emotion of loneliness in contemporary artworks as the scope of research, in which the study focuses on the source of the emotion of loneliness, the specific means of expression, and the type of expression, emphasizing self-consciousness and individual independence. Emotional expression is the most common way of interpreting emotions and the abstract medium of artistic language expression in the form of creative expression. Especially when art history entered the period of Impressionism and then Modernism, the artists emphasized more on self-expression. Loneliness is an essential emotional embodiment of self-consciousness, which is deeply favored by artists, who inject loneliness invisibly into their works of art to face it. They injected loneliness invisibly into their artworks to meet and deal with loneliness and engage in a deep dialogue with the audience. This dissertation is mainly based on the embodiment of loneliness in modern and contemporary paintings as the main line of research to explore loneliness in contemporary art. Taking the source of loneliness and the artist's emotional expression as the theme of the dissertation, through the discussion of different types of art such as easel painting, abstract painting, large-scale installation art, and combining with the author's emotional analysis and interpretation of the works, the expression of loneliness in the works will be further discussed, in an attempt to present the way of loneliness expression in artistic creation more comprehensively.
