Abstract

The execution of the dissertation has created the installation artwork “Lonely Souls in Digital Isolation and Stray” which explores the emergence and causes of the phenomenon of loneliness in the information age, focusing on young people living in the city as a starting point. The work constructs a visually striking visual space scene with LED light strips, acrylic panels, and laser spotlights. The red-light strips symbolizing the pressure of urban life and the blue square representing the internet highlight the lack of real communication and emotional exchange in modern society and how digital devices have severed the ties between people.
