Abstract: | This thesis investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on small and medium service enterprises (SMSEs) in China and evaluates the effectiveness of government fiscal policies in response to the crisis. The study assesses the pandemic's influence on various aspects of China's economy, including GDP, consumption, investment, and net exports. Furthermore, it delves into the detailed impact of COVID-19 on SMSEs, focusing on their production, operation, and overall survival. The research employs various analytical methods, including the Bayesian model and the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model, to examine the relationship between macroeconomic variables and the performance of SMSEs during the pandemic. The findings reveal significant challenges faced by SMSEs, including halted production and operation activities and difficulties in accessing rescue funds and support policies. Based on these findings, the study proposes effective countermeasures from a policy perspective to alleviate the negative consequences of the pandemic on SMSEs. These include government overnance strategies, targeted fiscal policies, and the establishment of an effective rescue system to ensure precise policy implementation. The analysis suggests that implementing these measures can help SMSEs recover and contribute to China's overall economic growth and social stability. |
