Abstract: This thesis aimed to examine the creative process of "Koh Luang" textile or tapestry woven textile of the Tai Lue people in the Sri Donchai community, Chiang Khong district, Chiang Rai, Thailand, through the use of fieldwork data, which consisted of interviews with textile experts and weavers in the community to collect information about weaving techniques, formats, and the patterns of Koh Luang textiles. The results showed that Koh Luang textiles of Tai Lue people in the Sri Donchai community, Chiang Khong district, Chiang Rai, had a significant identity, namely the weaving technique of Koh Luang in the center of the tube skirt in various colours. The Tai Lue people of the Sri Donchai community had preserved and creatively adapted their weaving techniques to the modern world. Producing Koh Luang textile began with designing more extensive and intricate patterns based on the traditional tube skirt structure. Then, refine weaving techniques by increasing silk yarn and metal thread to add value to the woven textile an story to accompany the pattern. In addition to bringing Koh Luang textiles be transformed into various products to satisfy the demands of the modern market. In addition, the Tai Lue people of the Sri Donchai had a management structure to preserve the community's knowledge by forming a group of weavers and cultural learning centers. Through ritual practices, culteral learning materials were created, and pride in the value of Tai Lue woven Textiles was transmitted. It employed social media and national and international trade shows to promote public relations for Koh Luang textiles. Therefore, Koh Luang textiles are folk art object that have undergone a creative process that contributes economic value to the community.
